A Blood donation Campaign was organized by the Oblate Youth Empowerment Centre (OYEC) Gnanatheepam on the 2nd of May 2021. At 9.00 am Rev. Fr. Eugene Benedict, OMI, the Provincial Superior blessed everyone present and inaugurated the campaign. Forty youth both boys and girls from different places participated enthusiastically and donated their precious blood. All those who donated the blood were given a certificate as token of gratitude and remembrance. It was a happy occasion. This great need was felt by the youth and they voluntarily came forward to initiate this act. So we really appreciate and thank the blood bank staff of Jaffna teaching hospital and all those who supported for the success of this noble act.
The MAGA Road Construction Company Workers took an initiative to donate blood at this crucial juncture when the whole country is affected by Covid-19. The Chaddy Shrine and the parishioners joined the donation camp. There were about 50 members from the crew donated blood and about 10 parishioners joined them. It was organized by Jaffna Teaching Hospital and the Shrine of Chaddy. Thanks to all the donors. MAGA Road Construction Company is undertaking many road constructions in Jaffna, and this blood donation is a sheer sign of their brotherhood to the Northerners. God bless them.
