For the past ten years, Thiruppumunai (CRADA), Center for Rehabilitation of Alcoholic and Drug Addicts in Mannar has been making real changes in the society which appallingly bears the horrors caused by the obsession for alcohol and drugs. Thus, now it has become much sought-after institute in the Northern Province not only for rehabilitation of alcoholic anonymous, but also to animate the anti-alcoholic programmes. In January CRADA facilitated a two-day workshop in Collaboration with different Divisional Secretariats in Mannar for Grama Niladharis, Samurdhi officers and Community leaders on Prevention of Alcoholic and Drug usage. Around 140 participants profited from these sessions. Beside these special programmes CRADA regularly conducts awareness seminars in Schools, Government offices and villages.
