Blessings to the Oblates of Mary Immaculate of Jaffna Province! Yesterday we celebrated the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord and the Church celebrated also the World Communications Day. Today is the Feast of Saint Eugene and as you inaugurate your Province website I ask Saint Eugene’s blessing on this new initiative for the Province. Congratulations, Father Provincial for encouraging this step to improve communications in the Province and for developing new tools for evangelization! It is significant that you have dedicated an Oblate, Fr. Ratna, to begin this technology at the service of news information in the Province and as a means of spreading the Gospel. May God bless this ministry for the Province, Fr. Ratna!
Today we see the need to communicate with greater speed and to a wider audience both for the news among Oblates and for those associated with us. I hope that this website will serve to deepen the spirit of unity of the Province by keeping everyone abreast of events and happenings. I hope it also serves as a means to provide formation in Oblate charism and studies for all the members of the Province. It is essential that each member of the Province be connected and not only seek news on the Province website, but help by sending in news and pictures of what is happening around the Province.
