Rev. Fr. S. Antony Poncian OMI has been appointed as new Principal of St. Joseph’s College Tricomalee. This college is a reputed institution for education in the Eastern Province for the last two decades. Fr. Poncian OMI has been working at various places in the field of Education namely at St. Patrick’s College, Jaffna and Sarawathy Vidyalayam, Kappalthurai, Chinabay, Trincomalee. He holds B.A degree in Tamil from the University of Jaffna, Diploma in Education from the Open University, Colombo. He obtained his Master in Education in 2011 from the Universityof Jaffna. He has already started working to raise the standard of the St. Joseph’s college. Fr. Poncian OMI is also the New Superior of Amala Uthayam, the only Oblate religious house in Trincomalee diocese. He was nominated by the bishop to the Senate of the Diocese of Trincomalee. We wish him all the success in his new mission.
