Rev. Fr. Santhiapillai Joseph Francis, omi, was admitted at the Jaffna Training Hospital for complications of his heart. He expired on 23rd January 2014. His remains were honoured at De Mazenod Church, Columbuthurai and his funeral took place at St. Mary’s Cathedral on 25th January 2014. He was nearly 81 years when he died. Till the end of his life he continued his ministry by sending inspirational texts to his friends through mobile phone.
