Fr. General visits missions in Sri Lanka

LougenBRev. Fr. Louigi Lougen OMI, Superior General of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, visited the missions in Sri Lanka where the Oblates are working. After his visit to the Province of Colombo he visited the Province of Jaffna from the 15th to the 22nd of June 2014. He visited all the Oblates and their ministries in the Dioceses of Mannar, Jaffna and Trincomalee and in the Formation Houses. He was also able to visit some of the Oblates from Jaffna Province who are ministering in Southern parts of Sri Lanka. During his visit he addressed the Oblates in each of the four Districts and on the 19th of June 2014 he attended a forum where he was briefed by the clergy and religious of Jaffna on the current situation where the Catholic Church in the North is ministering. On the final days of his visit he had joint sessions with Colombo and Jaffna administrations to address continued collaboration between the two Provinces. Fr. Clement Waidiyasekara OMI, General Councilor for Asia also attended the joint sessions.
