The International Children’s Day was celebrated by the Center for Peace and Reconciliation (CPR) on the 1st of October 2020 in Vavuniya and Kilinochchi districts. The title of the celebration was “Investing our future society means nurturing our children”. There were guests from the government and non-government sectors , and religious sector. CPR highlighted the lesson that it’s a time to promote togetherness around the world, awareness of the problems of the children faced in every corner of the globe, and improve the welfare of all the children. There were 195 children in Thandikulam, GS Division, Vavuniya and 175 Children in Akkarayan GS Division, Kilinochchi participated in these two events. The children participated enthusiastically in group games, game competitions and Stage events and brought to light their talents and they received gifts for their valuable participation.
