The Oblate Theological Study Club (OTSC) at the Oblate Scholasticate in Jaffna organized an evening study programme on “God and Religion”. The Guest speaker was Very. Rev. Fr. S. J. Emmanuel, former Vicar General of the Diocese of Jaffna and the Rector of Jaffna Major Seminary. Fr. S.J, as he is called, a long standing Tamil activist and a theologian of our time, returned to the Diocese after some years of exile in Europe due to the Civil Conflict. Using his own theological foundations and expertise in the above said subject, Fr. S. J delineated the contemporary search for God particularly in our homeland. There were participants from neighbouring Oblate communities. Great appreciation goes to Fr. Stany Antony OMI who is the moderator of the OTSC.
