On Wednesday, September 29 we, the scholastics, rejoiced over the triple blessings from God Almighty as he blessed us with one more year of witnessing life with Evangelical Counsels and also on guiding, shepherding and leading our brothers to the state of receiving Minor Orders Viz., Lector and Acolyte. Accordingly, we all renewed our vows with much enthusiasm and joy. On that day two of our brothers Viz., A. Delushan, OMI, and Y.C. Marino, OMI, received the order of Lector and R. Sahayatharshan OMI, and G. Remoshan OMI received the order of Acolyte. As we rejoice, may the name of God be blessed for evermore when we read the word of God, and when we bring to the altar the cruets containing the water and wine that is to be poured into the chalice.
The scholasticate community is very grateful to very Rev. Fr. Eugene Benedict OMI, the Provincial superior and to his counsellors for accepting our applications for the renewal of vows and for minor orders. We also record our heartfelt thanks to Rev. Fr. Sathiyaseelan, OMI, the superior of our De Mazenod Scholasticate and to Rev. Fr. Amalraj, OMI, for all the support given and troubles taken to prepare us in every way possible. With much gratitude we remember Rev. Fr. S.J. Suren, OMI, for preparing our brothers with necessary instructions on Minor Orders and helping the community, throughout the liturgical celebration. May the almighty God bless all the Oblates of our Province and those afar who were united with us in prayer.
