The Scholastics from De Mazenod Scholasticate, Jaffna organized number of programmes during their summer vacation in the months of August and September, 2013. Fr.Mahesan, omi, the pastor and his assistant Fr.Gerald, omi got the Scholastics to organize children and youth programmes in their mission at Akkarayan in the first week of August, 2013. Fr.Sathiyaseelan, omi, the coordinator, Oblate Children Ministry, was helped by the Scholastics to organize Children animation programmes around few parishes both in Jaffna and Mannar dioceses. Fr.Regikumar, omi, the new director of Oblate Lay Associates, organized the inaugural meetings with the lay people gathered from the parishes in the dioceses of Jaffna and in Mannar in the second half of August, 2013. As part of the Oblate Lay Associate initiatives there was also a separate gathering for the ex-Oblate seminarians in Jaffna in August, 2013. The Scholastics took up another week of spiritual reawakening mission at the parish of Pandiyanthalvu, Jaffna.
